Meet Mrs. Haydt. Mrs. Haydt is a 6th-grade science teacher at West Scranton Intermediate. She has graduated from Kutztown University and is currently going to Wilkes University to get her Master’s in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. She has been teaching for four years, and this is her first time teaching here.

Before coming to West Scranton Intermediate, she taught reading at Southwest Middle School. However, Mrs. Haydt has a passion for science. She wanted to become a teacher to share her love of learning with her students. Her favorite thing about teaching is when she sees their faces when they discover something new.

“I have always loved science, and now I can teach what I love, “ stated Mrs. Haydt.

In her free time, she enjoys doing outdoor activities. Some activities she listed were hiking, fishing, and kayaking. Mrs. Haydt is practicing to become fluent in Spanish, and she used to compete in gymnastics meets. Mrs. Haydt’s favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. Her favorite food and drink are mashed potatoes and ice tea, and her favorite color is burgundy. Her greatest achievement was going back to school to get her Master’s. Also, Mrs. Haydt got married a couple of weeks ago! Congratulations and welcome to West!
