Fall Gives Way to Christmas
One of the best parts about living in Northeast Pennsylvania is the changing of the seasons. If you missed out on taking a fall foliage tour, WINC writer Peyton Passariello, highlights the best places she’s seen this fall, as well as some great places to visit to take in some holiday lights and other festivities!
For that autumn vibe, the best place to go to see the beautiful leaves fall is Lackawanna State Park. In the Camelback Mountain region, that place is in the Poconos. Another good place to go is Lake Wallenpaupack. Those places are in the Poconos and they are beautiful to see. The leaves could be in different colors like red, green, orange, and yellow. The vibrant colors are an amazing sight to see. The autumn weather is a favorite for many as well. It is not too hot or too cold. As the leaves fall off the trees and autumn gives way to winter, it’s time to turn our attention to the holiday sights all around us.
There are some great places to go to celebrate the holiday season in the Scranton area. The first one is the Festival of Lights in Tunkhannock at Stone Henge Golf Course. That’s a beautiful place to go. They have impressive lights and they are decorated very nicely. The second place to go is the Lackawanna Winter Market. That’s another good place to go and they have great lights too. They look so beautiful and pretty! Another place is Christmas in a small town that is in the town of Carbondale. If you want to drive a bit outside of the Scranton area, another place to go is The Christmas Magic Festival of Lights in York County looks like a great place to go. Another destination is Hershey’s Sweet Lights if you’re up for a drive. If a trip isn’t for you, you could drive or walk through the Christmas light display at Nay Aug Park, which also boasts a hayride. Of course, walking or driving around the neighborhoods in Scranton to see how all the houses are decorated is always a fun night, too!
