Spy x Family Review: Watch or Pass

Spy x Family is written by Tatsuya Endo and was produced by Wit Studio and Cloverworks. WIt Studio also produced the first three seasons of Attack on Titans, and Cloverworks also produced Promised Neverland. Spy x Family first appeared on April 9, 2022. You can currently watch this series on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and more. In total, it will have 25 episodes, although the series is split into two parts. Part one contains 12 episodes, and part two contains 13 episodes. Spy x Family is action fiction, spy fiction, and comedy. On MyAnimeList, it has a rating of nine out of ten. The manga and anime are still ongoing.

In the story, you first follow one of the best spies, Twilight. His mission is to form a fake family and hunt down Donovan Desmond, although he only shows up at his son’s private school. Knowing that, Twilight first finds a false identity which is Loid Forger. He then meets Anya, an orphan and a telepath, and Yor, an assassin. None of them know about each other’s identities except Anya. In a couple of days of getting used to each other, they seem to be a “perfect” family. Now all Loid has to do is hope that everything goes to plan, so he can complete his mission.

Spy x Family (Yes, I do pronounce the x) is great and an awesome series to start your anime journey. I believe that this can be watched by almost everyone, too. I was even able to get interested in the first episode. It is a funny, well-animated, and adorable series. Plus, the idea behind the story is amazing. The series would not be amazing without the characters. I can talk for days about how great the character design and their personalities are. In addition, the voice acting of all the characters are really satisfying. (In my opinion, I prefer the Japanese sub.) Not to mention, the opening and outro songs are catchy and will probably get stuck in your head. This is truly a great series, and I believe it will be one of the best series to watch. I really recommend it. Spy x Family deserves a 5 out of 5 stars from me.
