Student Artist Spring Issue: Miss Olivia Murray
I got the privilege to interview Olivia Murray on her wonderful billboard she created. We talked about how she felt about it and the inspiration behind it.
I asked her, “How does it feel to have your wonderful drawing on a billboard for everyone to see?”
She replied with “It feels good and it will spread a positive message to people who might be struggling with drugs and alcohol.”
Another question I asked her was “How did you react when you found out you won?”
“I was surprised because I didn’t think I was going to win two years in a row. I didn’t think I was going to be able to win again and if they were going to pick someone else.”
Also, I asked Olivia, “How do you think your billboard will impact your life as well as someone else’s life?”
“I think it’s going to let people know the effect of their problems and put a stop to them.”
The final question I asked Olivia was, “What was the inspiration behind your billboard drawing?”
She answered with, “The heart meant to not get into drugs and alcohol and how it could really hurt someone or yourself.”
I had an amazing time asking Olivia some questions about her billboard and getting to learn her side of making the billboard. Also how she felt about it and it was honestly inspiring. I hope her work spreads to other people to stop doing drugs and alcohol.
