Do you know the effects of social media?
Social media can affect many things, especially your mental health. It can affect your sleep schedule, mental health, and relationships with people you may be close to.
Did you know social media affects your sleep?
The blue light emitted from mobile phones can cause you to stay up later and have more trouble going to sleep. Therefore you wake up later which means less time to get ready which makes you skip breakfast causing you to be hungry. It also affects your attitude towards school because less sleep equals crankiness.
Recent studies show that social media is MORE addictive than cigarettes and alcohol. It is so addictive that most popular social media platforms we know and love have been banned in other states and countries. Some examples of the apps are TikTok, Instagram, and even Facebook!
Social media causes depression, and anxiety. Depression causes people to feel worse about themselves and push it off on other people. It also causes worse attitudes towards parents which makes most kids get sent away. It also causes cyberbullying which spreads depression and anxiety. That’s why social media is bad for your mental health.
