Former first lady Rosalynn Carter has died at the age of 96 on November 19th, 2023, in Plains, GA. She and Jimmy Carter had the longest lasting presidential marriage of more than 77 years. They got married in 1946. They had 4 kids together named: Amy Carter, James Carter, Jack Carter, and Donnel Carter. (August 18, 1927 – November 19th, 2023)
She was an outstanding First Lady and she continued to do charitable work long after her husband left the Oval Office. She was active in various philanthropic causes, including: mental illness, homelessness, and human rights. She was vice in chair of The Carter Center in Atlanta, founded in 1982 to promote peace and human rights worldwide. At the Center, she led a program to diminish stigma against mental health care.
