Since we are entering the month of March, I am writing this article to inform you about some very strange holidays in March. As some of you probably didn’t know, there is a holiday every day for the year. There are sometimes multiple for each day. These holidays are not celebrated very often, for many people do not even pay attention to each one. I thought it would be interesting to tell you some funny and weird ones found. Additionally, there are some nice ones that would be fun to share with your friends and family. Maybe you will start celebrating them too!

On March 1st, it is National Pig Day, Peanut Butter Lovers Day, Plan a Solo Vacation Day, and World Compliment Day. One the first, be sure to eat lots of peanut butter, give someone a compliment, appreciate pigs more, and plan a vacation for yourself (although maybe not this year) Now don’t forget to try something new that is not the “same old stuff” on March 2nd, Old Stuff Day! In celebration of If Pets Had a Thumb Day, don’t forget to think about what it would be like if your pet had a thumb on the 3rd. Let’s take a look into March 4th, which is when we give our appreciation to the men and women in the armed forces by participating in the Hug a GI Day. Make sure to thank and appreciate all of the employees wherever you may work, because it is Employee Appreciation Day on March 5! It would be very ironic if you had to attend a dentist appointment on March 6, because it is Dentist’s Day! To start off your morning on the 7th, don’t forget to have cereal on National Cereal Day! International Working Women’s Day is a great holiday that is located on the 8th of March. No need to be in a panic until Panic Day, which is definitely a very odd holiday on March 9th. If you have one, be sure to take pride in your middle name during Middle Name Pride Day, a holiday celebrated on March 10th.

Moving onto March 11th, many people love popcorn so what better way to celebrate this delicious snack than by taking part in Popcorn Lovers Day. March 12th is used to honor our beautiful earth, as it is Plant a Flower Day! If you like to wear fanny packs, the 13th is for you, for it is International Fanny Pack Day. For all of my math lovers out there, March 14th is National PI Day! The holiday Everything You Think is Wrong Day  in recognition of all of those people having bad days. Hey, it happens to the best of us, and the 15th is the day to embrace it. March 16th is the day in which you celebrate all giant pandas, otherwise known as Giant Panda Bear Day. March 17th is Submarine Day, and this is for the boat, not the sandwich! Additionally, Saint Patrick’s Day is also on this day. Awkward Moments Day and Absolutely Incredible Kid Day are both marked on the 18th, so don’t forget to release all of your awkward moments! Poultry Day (on March 19th) is the perfect day to celebrate all of the birds like: chicken and turkey. On March 20th, there is probably one of my favorites in March, and that is International Day of Happiness. Additionally, the 20th is also International Sports Car Day and International Earth Day.

Spray on your favorite perfume and get ready for Fragrance Day on March 21st. Wait to goof off until National Goof Off Day, which is on the 22nd. The 23rd is National Chip and Dip Day, and National Puppy Day is the day to appreciate your furry friends. National Chocolate Covered Raisin Day is the holiday on the 24th, which is a bit of a controversial one. March 25th is the day for our pecan and waffle lovers, and the holidays are Pecan Day and Waffle Day. Be sure to brainstorm for the 26th, because it is Make Your Own Holiday Day! Have you ever thought about changing your name? Well then, March 27th is the day for you! National “Joe” Day lets you change your name, just for a day! Pickle on a stick, hotdog on a stick (corn dog) or candy on a stick (lollipop). All of those things are everything you should be eating, plus much more, on Something on a Stick Day, 3/28. During 2020, I believe that small businesses began to grow. National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day helps bring small businesses to our attention on March 29th. Do you like to walk? Because whether or not you do, be sure to get out in the beautiful nature on March 30th, which is Take a Walk in the Park Day. Finishing off our month with some color! March 31st celebrates National Crayon Day, so bring your colorful designs onto paper!

During the month of March, I hope you take the time to think about these holidays and celebrate some of them after. Thank you for reading my article and I hope you enjoyed it. Always remember, WEST IS BEST! After all, who in their right mind would want to miss out on dentist’s day?!
