Do you love to cook? Do you love soup? If so, then this is the perfect article for you. Today I will share with you how to make one of my favorite dishes: butternut squash soup. If you want, follow the instructions below.

Ingredients:

  • 6 tablespoons chopped onion
  • 4 tablespoons margarine/butter
  • 6 cups peeled and cubed butternut squash 
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • ½ teaspoon dried marjoram
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese

Directions:

  1. Roast squash at 350 degrees for an hour.
  2. Let the squash cool completely, and then peel the squash.
  3. In a large saucepan, saute onions in margarine or butter until tender.
  4. Add in squash, water, bouillon, marjoram, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  5. Bring to boil.
  6. Puree squash and cream cheese in a blender or food processor in batches until smooth.
  7. Return to the saucepan, and heat through.
  8. DO NOT ALLOW TO BOIL.
  9. Ready to serve.
